after the goal its all blurry because its where the tape was rewound 1000 times lol
".. Dryden didn't have much of chance on that one.."..."..Dryden didn't have much of a chance on that one.."...."..I don't think that Dryden thought he was going to shoot that one..."...."..There was nothing that Dryden could do on that one....". (hahahahaha..)
Cournoyer was a solid weapon, a true asset in any situation.
Le geste de Dale Talon était complètement irresponsable !
If you really want to see Paul Henderson’s favorite goal: ruclips.net/video/RXxEBTaTf5Q/видео.html
THE slash against Kharlamov was against the Flyers, when Tikhonov pulled his team from the ice. Fake headline
Clarke was a no class, no teeth, no balls PO S. A true disgrace to the game. Wouldn't have him on my team if you paid me.
Умейте достойно проигрывать, а то сразу пошли запрещённые приемы
Bobby Clarke gave Kharlamov his stick as a show of sportsmanship after the series.
Очень обидно было, особенно за Валеру Васильева. Подарил Канаде гол и победу
Players and fans who say it was "war" are indicating their ignorance of real war (50 millions dead in WW2). Clarke's two-hander on Kharlamov was an obvious attempt to injure. Should the Soviets then have done it to Paul Henderson? Don't expect flag-waving fans to be fair-minded -- sports fandom makes people stupid.
Great player
Ron Ellis Paul Hendersom needs to be in the HOF!
he is die in the day and the years In which I was born
Number 11 Sid Sideburns!
Their like will never be seen again.
I remember watching this at school. In Vancouver. This was not only a hockey series but also seen as a contest of Democracy against Communism. Although the school year had just started, and it was not in that grades curriculum, our teacher used it as a chance to teach us the difference between the two systems. It was a brilliant way to take advantage of a current affair to teach young minds . As for the game, most classes had a TV . I remember when the game started thinking that we were so lucky that our teacher let us watch the game and everyone else was doing school stuff. Then Canada scored their first goal, and you could hear the entire school erupted in wild cheers. Then came the Henderson goal, I have 2 wonderful reasons to remember that moment in time. First was the goal, the second was it was the first time a girl kissed me. We were all sitting on the flour around the TV, and when the puck went into the net, I threw my arms up in celibration ,Susan immediately threw herself at me to give me a huge, she hit me with such force it knocked me flat on my back with her landing on top of me , she buried her head into my shoulder then she kissed me on the cheek and then the lips. If our teacher had seen us , he never said anything to us. We held hands for what was left of the game, and just like that, I had my first girl friend. Thank you Team Canada and Paul Henderson, for a memory I will never forget.
The Russians introduced Canadians to free-style hockey with great stick-handling and precise passing. Loved it.
I was 23 at the time and had lived long enough to know we were #1 in the world in hockey so I was shocked when the Russians started beating us.
The game was on a Thursday, late afternoon. Got off a work early to watch the game. What a memory.
Wow, great video quality and 52 yrs later in 2024 now. Just wow.
The very greatest goal ever scored in hockey history.
When the soviets arrived in Que. All their equipment was confiscated by police, held for ransom, NHL paid😮😮
To byl!!! Hokej!!!
Watching that entire shift and, wow, Serge Savard was a turnover machine. Thankfully didn't cost Team Canada the series; the coaches should have used a hook to pull him off the ice.
If Cournoyer doesn't intercept the clearing pass, no goal. If Esposito doesn't chip it back at the net, no goal. If Henderson doesn't hustle back to the front of the net after being tripped, no goal. A combination of good hustle that the present Leaf organization can learn from.
my favourite player growing up. loved those old jerseys, they should bring them back
Not many fans here acknowledging the violence and thuggery of some of our “heroes” in the games in Russia. I cheered as an 8 year old boy. But now I see it quite differently.
You must be Russian, because I remember our players.. CANADIANS getting their ankles cut by Russian skates stomping on them.
What Canadians fail to understand is that in Europe they did not tolerate Canadian crap. Canada can play hockey when it wants to. On the other hand what ruzzians do not understand that when they played in Canada Cups (especially 84 and 87) - the referees were following NA rules and traditions. Much more physical game with clutching, grabbing and hooking was allowed. And despite their whining the refereeing was even-handed.
Clarke voluntarily broke Kharlamov's ankle with a well-calculated hit - it is totally clear. Kharlamov was one of the best players of the Soviet team. Not counting the other dirty trick in that game. This is why Canada won the Series. Shame on Canada.
The other dirty tricks by Clarke and other players I mean.
Most Canadian fans don't want to hear it, or read it, they're still waving the flag and drinking up -- in the end, their team had better goons, but they sure as hell didn't prove superior to the Soviets.
Canada won because they played dirty in the 7h game - with, among others, Bobby Clark, of the Philadelphia bullies, who fractured the ankle of Kharlamov, one of the best Soviet players, with a stick, of ax, well calculated. Shame on Canada!
Canada won because they played dirty in the 6th game - with, among others, Bobby Clark, of the Philadelphia bullies, who fractured the ankle of Kharlamov, one of the best Soviet players, with a stick, of ax, well calculated. Shame on Canada!

Sad Orr couldn't play
And Bobby Hull.
American greatest speech of John F Kennedy and Abraham Lincoln. Canada's greatest speech came from a sweaty hockey player in 1972 Vancouver.
Clarke-mean and insidious
Very similar to the Henderson's goal. Tretiak gives away a rebound, stops first shot, the second goes through
Always admired Peter Mahovlich tapping Tretiak after the goal. Now that is what you call sportsmanship
Man these guys would get worked in a 2024 NHL. I understand the importance and i'm proud of Canada, but this looks like some 12 or 13 year old AA team
RIP Robert Cecil Cole CM June 24, 1933 - April 24, 2024
Bobby Clarke was always a dirty player.
"Dryden didn't have much chance on that goal" says Brian COnacher...as the replay shows a backhand shot along the ice goes between Dryden's legs.
Canadians acted like a bunch of pathetic goons (I'm Canadian, btw) especially Bobby Clarke and JP Parise. Because of that, I have never been able, to this day, to enjoy Canada's "win". (At the end I was even rooting for the USSR).
Рагулин - Ванька Курнуайе как электричка мимо меня промчался и гол забил)))
i didnot know 80 years olds were commenting on youtube videos?
WE LOVE YOU CANADA - - WE THE PEOPLE - - ARE ON YOUR SIDE FOREVER - - HERE IN THE U.S.A. !
2024....how many are still with us?
The refereeing was a sad joke
Both teams were exhausted at this point. The first game had the Soviets playing keep away with the puck but towards the end of this game their sticks fumbled everything they touched
FRANK MAHOVLICH and his brother PETER both scored goals in game 2 - 1972 Summit series in Moscow !
Game 2 was at Maple Leafs Garden, in Toronto.
@@charlesdansereau-menard3347 Wonderful to hear the crowd in Toronto cheer The Big M's goal. Imlach treated him horribly.
